Sixth Triennial Conference on Mine Subsidence
in conjunction with a Meeting of the
Eastern Australian Ground Control Group
will be held in
Maitland, Sunday 31st October to Tuesday 2nd November 2004

Over 20 papers will be presented for the MSTS conference, plus additional presentations at the EAGCG workshop.. A major theme of this conference will be the impact of subsidence on surface and ground waters. There will also be an emphasis on the requirements of the Department of Primary Industries new Subsidence Management Plan process in New South Wales, and a number of the government agencies represented on the SMP Review Committee will present papers.


The EAGCG will hold a workshop immediately following the MSTS conference, on Wednesday 3rd November with coal mine tours planned for Thursday 4th November. The theme of the workshop is the corrosion of ground reinforcement and rock support elements.

Venue

The conference will be held at the Country Comfort Monte Pio in Maitland. The Country Comfort Monte Pio is located on New England Highway, Rutherford, Maitland 2320 and their telephone number is 02 4932 5288. Accommodation is available at the Monte Pio or at nearby hotels and motels. The table below gives an indication of costs (NB there is a surcharge for Sunday night).
